The Germany Experience – A Family Cultural Event


Westgate Chapel is hosting “The Germany Experience” over a two-day period at their facilities located at 2500 Wilford Drive in Toledo, Ohio. On Saturday February 3rd the DEUTSCHER TAG, representing a day in the life of Germany, will be held twice, once at 9:00 am to 12 noon, and the second time from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Reservations are required, at the cost of $5.00 per person, up to a maximum of $20.00 per family.

On this day, the German culture will be presented through the presentation of four cultural rooms, each representing four areas of culture under the categories of food, sports, cultural life and language.

The second day of the event will be held on the following Monday, February 5th between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm, where the DEUTSCHES FEST, representing a German Festival will be held at the same location of the 3rd. Donations will be accepted at this event to cover the costs.

Childcare will be available for birth through pre-school age children. (Must mark in registration to take advantage of this benefit)

Some Additional Event Information

There will be eight German participants from Waren, Germany to present their countries culture from four different experiences, “allowing you to experience the language, the culture, the sounds, the sites and even the tastes of life in Germany! There will be activities for you, with history and teaching in this highly interactive event!”

Westgate’s promotional information expresses the DEUTSCHES FEST as follows:

“We will eat dinner in a room set-up to feel like a typical festival with music, food tents and of course some entertainment and activities. We will conclude the night and the Germany Experience weekend together with a German lantern walk through the halls of Westgate!”
