Laura Story comes to Hoover Auditorium located in Lakeside, Ohio (Ottawa County) on Friday, July 20, 2018; program starts at 8:15 pm. Hoover Auditorium is part of the Lakeside Chautauqua venue, which is celebrating its 145th anniversary of operation. More will be given on Lakeside, along with ticket information at the end of this article.

Laura Story was born on September 5, 1978 in Augusta, Georgia. As you read her biography on her website, we learn the following. “Story has built a life—and a career—around submission to her calling. She’s led worship at Atlanta’s Perimeter Church for the past 12 years. In addition to penning songs recorded by artists like Chris Tomlin, Story has found success as a recording artist in her own right. Since the release of her solo debut in 2008, Story has amassed a GRAMMY® Award, a Billboard Music Award, multiple GMA Dove Awards and an RIAA Gold certification for her massive No. 1 hit “Blessings.” In addition, she’s also the author of two books, including the latest ‘When God Doesn’t Fix It – Lessons You Never Wanted to Learn, Truths You Can’t Live Without.’”

Laura Story has built her life and ministry around the theme “Surrender.” By surrendering to her Lord God, her life has been led down many roads to include facing her husband’s illness of a brain tumor, which influenced her writing the song, “Blessing.” In 2012, this song earned GMA Dove Awards under the following categories: Pop/Contemporary Recorded song of the year, Pop/Contemporary Album of the year and Song of the year.

We also learn there are other factors that have influenced her song writing as we learn from her website biography, which reads, “To that end, Story readily admits motherhood has impacted her songwriting on all levels. Thinking specifically about her daughter, she says, ‘I’ve realized that these songs form people’s theology, and they affect how this little girl is going to think about herself in the future. They might affect decisions that she makes in the future because of what she believes about God and what she believes about His Word. I’ve changed as a songwriter with kids.’”

Today, Laura Story is performing around the country, with her schedule found on her website. The link follows: Laura Story Website
